Our Story

A Home Built on
Care & Community

Eden House Care Facility is a community-oriented 58-bed nursing home and 20-bed retirement home nestled in the countryside between Rockwood, Eden Mills and Guelph, Ontario. Surrounded by lush grounds and a peaceful Memorial Garden, we have been a pillar in our community for over 55 years.

Together with our staff, professional associates and dedicated volunteers, we strive every day to give our residents the best possible care — making Eden House truly "a nice place to live."

Eden House is licensed by the Ministry of Long-Term Care and the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA), and is affiliated with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization.

55 Years of Caring

From our founding in 1968 to today, Eden House has grown and evolved — always with the same core commitment to resident-centred care.

1968

Eden House Founded

Eden House Care Facility opens its doors in Wellington County, nestled between the communities of Rockwood, Eden Mills and Guelph — beginning a legacy of community-centred care.

1990s

Expansion & Growth

Eden House grows its capacity and service offerings, adding the Retirement Home wing and expanding programming to meet the evolving needs of residents and the community.

2000s

RNAO Best Practice Affiliation

Eden House becomes affiliated with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) as a Best Practice Spotlight Organization — embedding evidence-based nursing care across all programs.

2020

COVID-19 Response

Eden House implements comprehensive infection prevention and control protocols to protect residents and staff during the global pandemic, maintaining safety and communication with families throughout.

2024

Continued Excellence

Eden House renews its Fire Safety Plan, updates its BPSO Statement, and continues to invest in staff, programming and resident experience — maintaining its reputation as one of the region's most trusted care homes.

Today Eden House continues to be a vibrant, caring home for 78 residents — guided by its founding values and a dedicated team of staff and volunteers committed to making every day meaningful.

Our nursing team provides 24-hour care and medical oversight, working in close partnership with attending physicians and specialist consultants to maintain the highest standards of clinical care.

PSW Team

Our PSWs are the heart of daily resident care — assisting with bathing, dressing, meals and personal hygiene with skill, patience and genuine warmth every single day.

Full-Time Recreation Staff

Our dedicated recreation team designs and delivers daily programming that enriches resident life — from arts and crafts to music, exercise, special events and community outings.

Dietitians & Kitchen Staff

Our registered dietitian oversees individualized nutrition plans while our kitchen team prepares fresh, appetizing meals tailored to residents' needs and preferences three times daily.

Our administrative team supports residents, families and staff — managing admissions, scheduling, communications and the day-to-day running of the facility with efficiency and care.
