Eden House takes infection prevention and control seriously. Our IPAC program is built on current best practices, Ministry of Long-Term Care directives, and the guidance of public health professionals.

Staff follow strict PPE protocols at all times — proper donning, doffing and disposal per provincial guidance.
Rigorous hand hygiene policies enforced for all staff, residents and visitors throughout the facility at all times.
Regular screening of residents and staff with rapid response procedures and isolation protocols as needed.
Clear outbreak identification, reporting and management procedures aligned with public health authority requirements.
Regular audits and CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) processes ensure our IPAC program stays current and effective.
IPAC Practices
Every aspect of our daily operations is designed with infection prevention in mind.
Thorough, frequent cleaning and disinfection of all resident areas, common spaces, high-touch surfaces and equipment using Ministry-approved products and schedules.
We support and facilitate annual vaccination programs for residents and staff, including influenza and other provincially recommended immunizations.
All staff receive ongoing IPAC education and training, including new hire orientation, annual updates, and outbreak-specific refreshers.
Droplet and contact precaution protocols are in place and immediately activated when a resident has a suspected or confirmed transmissible illness.
Active surveillance for infection rates with mandatory reporting to public health authorities and the Ministry of Long-Term Care as required.
Families are promptly notified of any health concerns affecting their loved ones, and are kept informed throughout any outbreak period with regular updates.

We warmly welcome visits from families and friends. To keep our residents safe, we ask all visitors to follow our current protocols.
Please read our current visitor policy before your visit. It outlines any active requirements for entry, screening, and conduct during your visit.
Visitors may be asked to complete a health screening upon arrival. If you are feeling unwell, please postpone your visit and contact us to reschedule.
Please use the hand sanitizer provided at the entrance and throughout the building. This simple step protects our most vulnerable residents.
Masking requirements vary depending on current outbreak status and provincial guidance. Check our current visitor policy or call ahead to confirm.
We recommend calling ahead to confirm visiting hours and any current protocols before making the trip. Our office is open Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
