Eden House maintains comprehensive emergency and contingency plans to ensure the safety and continuity of care for all residents in any emergency situation — including natural disasters, infrastructure failures, disease outbreaks, or other crises.

Our emergency plans are reviewed and updated regularly in consultation with management, staff, and regulatory authorities. They cover evacuation procedures, communication protocols, alternate care arrangements, and essential service continuity.

These plans comply fully with the requirements of the Long-Term Care Homes Act and the Retirement Homes Act.

Eden House warmly welcomes visits from family members, friends and community members. Our visitor policy is designed to balance the important benefits of social connection for residents with the need to protect the health and safety of our entire community.

The current visitor policy outlines entry requirements, screening procedures, visiting hours and expectations for conduct during visits. Requirements may vary depending on current health directives from the Ministry of Long-Term Care or public health authorities.

We recommend reviewing the current policy and, when in doubt, calling ahead to confirm any active requirements before visiting.

Our Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Report and Action Plan documents Eden House's performance across key care indicators, identifies areas for improvement, and outlines concrete actions to address them.

CQI is a fundamental part of how Eden House operates — not just a regulatory requirement, but a genuine commitment to ongoing improvement in resident care, staff practices, and facility operations.

The report is reviewed regularly by management and the Board, with progress tracked and reported transparently.

Eden House collects, uses and discloses personal and personal health information in accordance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and all other applicable Ontario privacy legislation.

Our privacy policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, who may have access to it, and how it is protected. Residents and families have the right to access their own records and to request corrections.
